Laboratory centrifuge for continuous separation of two liquids, clarifying of liquids from solids, emulsifying of several liquids, fraction of plasma protein, concentration and extraction of viruses and bacteria as well as further fields of application.
CEPA centrifuges are characterized by their ability to process many times the volume of their tubular bowl. Fluid mixtures are fed into the bottom of the rapidly rotating separation chamber. Solids are retained, while liquid components are expelled from the top of the chamber through a collection tray. For liquid-liquid separations, two collection trays are used. The retained solids cake is dry and densely packed by the high G-forces of the CEPA centrifuge.

Centrifuge for the use as a benchtop-centrifuge in laboratory scale. Housing made of grey cast iron GG 25, with built-on motor and pulley for drive by endless flat belt, equipped with one cylinder for sepa- rating two liquids with different density (Type TR) OR one cylinder for clarifying liquid from solids (Type K).
The cylinder of the centrifuge has a useful length of 190 mm and an inside diameter of 43 mm, content 0,25 l. It is made of stainless steel 1.4571 (SS 316 Ti). Max. capacity is 30 l/h (water).
The universal motor is adjustable trough a potentiometer the numbers of revolutions are indicated by a digital impulse transmitter. The speed range from 0-12.000 rpm is limited because of natural frequency oscillation, above that variable adjustable till the max. speed of 40.000 rpm.
Connected load: 230 V, 50 Hz, capacity approx. 330 watts.
Electro-magnetic locking of the belt and spindle covering, the centrifuge can not be started when the cover is open. The cover cannot be opened before standstill of the centrifuge.
The electric control, including the necessary regulation starter, 1.5 m connecting cable with connector according to DIN 49441 is mounted on the centrifuge.
