CARR Centritech CELL 8

Separaton system Centritech CELL 8 is a flow centrifuge for working with mammalian and insect cells. It is designed to concentrate cells and clarify the culture medium in the processes of cell harvesting, in perfusion systems, and for the separation of viable cells from dead cells and cellular detritus. Gamma irradiated, single-use insert helps to avoid any risk of contamination.

Cells are pumped peristaltically from the bioreactor into the CELL 8 Insert, where the centrifuge process gently separates viable cells, dead cells, cell debris and clarified liquid.
During perfusion, live cells can be recycled automatically into bioreactor, resulting in increased cell density and product yield.
Separation occurs entirely within a gamma-irradiated, disposable bladder and tubing system, referred to as a Separation Insert. The Separation Insert allows for a single-use, closed system process, eliminating the risk of contamination and product leakage. Rapid product changeover is also possible.
A three-step process of separation, isolation, and discharge controls the sedimentation rate of the cells are well as the flow rate and direction of the fluid streams entering and leaving the separation chamber. An inflatable barrier segregates the cell-rich material from the supernatant, ensuring a complete discharge of cells during each cycle.
